Abstract

The Novint Falcon is a low-cost ($250) commercial haptic device with three translational Degrees of Freedom. It has a workspace of 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm and provides feedback forces up to 10 N. The device is very easy to use and the knob handle of the Falcon can be replaced by an alternative handle, making it ideal for various educational purposes.
