Symbiotic Driving at the ESV Conference
David Abbink was invited as panel member on the Panel Session “Getting there safely together – the Interaction of Human and Machine”, on the opening day of the ESV Conference 2019. The lively discussion with Oliver Carsten, Peter Burns, Tom Gasser, covered the role of the driver, wishful thinking versus reality, the likelihood of level 3 automation, and the need to appropriately communicate and interact with drivers. Symbiotic driving was mentioned as an important direction to take. On the final day, David organized lab visits for interested conference attendees, to experience symbiotic driving themselves.
