Joost joined the Delft Haptics Lab in february 2015. He finishing his 3-month internship UBC in Vancouver, Canada. Afterwards he did a literature study on human-initiated changes in control authority (adaptable automation), implemented a grip sensing algorithm on the TriaR joystick, that can dynamically in real-time adjust the level of haptic authority for a shared control. He’s currently running experiments to evaluate his algorithms.
