Nirul performed his internship and graduation project in collaboration with the i-Botics group (Intelligent Imaging), supervised by Nanda van der Stap and David Abbink.
Nirul developed and validated a VR-mediated teleoperation framework. This framework is used in human-robot teleoperation andutilizes a Virtual Reality (VR) environment. Using this VR environment, Nirul combined telepresence and teleoperation for intuitive operation of a robot arm (KUKA LBR iiwa 7). The results show that the framework was intuitive and resulted in high performance for novel (tele)operators.
